This amazing, family-friendly home on private lake Verna is amazing and makes a great retreat to escape to!
Enjoy terrific views of Verna Lake from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and spacious, open deck. The deck is a great space to gather and enjoy the outdoors with plenty of patio chairs, a gas grill, and a convenient outdoor dining area to enjoy all of your meals .
Sweet Verna has all the comforts of home . 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths offer enough space for everyone!
Another great spot is the firepit - don't hesitate to snuggle up with your favorite blanket while the storyteller of the group amuses everyone in the group with amazing stories and tales.
Smart TV, Fiber optic Wi Fi and central AC make for a comfortable stay!

The lake is beautiful, the house included kayaks, a canoe, and pedal boats that you can use to fish, sometimes hooking a bass on the first cast! Fish from the dock every day ! The home is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated making it feel very home-like. There are nearby sandy beaches to spend the day at. Close to Minocqua for shopping, antiques, and restaurants.

  We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this property. One suggestion would be to update the listing photos, as many appear to have been taken in the snow. The lake and surrounding area are absolutely spectacular during the warmer months and deserve to be showcased.
  
  The home itself is very well maintained and stocked better than almost any vacation rental we’ve stayed in. There were plenty of towels, extra blankets, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The dock area was a great place to relax, and we appreciated having access to the paddle boats and kayaks. The only maintenance item we noticed was that some of the dock boards are weathered, cracked, and beginning to deteriorate from sun exposure.
  
  A few additional details in the listing would make arrival and the stay even smoother. More specific directions to the property would be helpful, as our GPS took us on a few wrong turns, which was challenging while towing both a fishing boat and an enclosed UTV trailer. It would also be helpful to note that there are two bedrooms upstairs (one king and one queen) and two downstairs (one queen and one with two twin beds). There are quite a few light switches throughout the home, and it took us a while to figure out which controlled what—including discovering that the dishwasher is powered by a kitchen light switch. Finally, mentioning that the public boat launch is located around the lake would be useful. It was easy to find and worked well for our fishing boat, although it isn’t the best launch for larger boats.
  
  Overall, this is a fantastic property with excellent amenities, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  This was the perfect place for our family vacation to northern Wisconsin. It was a spacious and very clean home. We liked that it was close to everything yet far enough to be a peaceful and quiet location. We loved having a view of the lake from the beautiful deck. I would definitely come back here again.

  I think my family would all 100% agree that we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Sweet Verna. The distance from everything we wanted to do in Minocqua and Woodruff was perfect. There was plenty of space and enough beds for everyone in our group. Having three bathrooms was tremendous, too. The lake and grounds are beautiful, and we appreciated the paddle boats, canoe and kayaks. The lake water is very clear, but it is pretty shallow so my son had a difficult time fishing because of the vegetation in the water (even in the canoe away from the shore). Wildlife was all around us the whole time, so it is quite an experience if you are not used to seeing deer walking in the water to get a drink or munch on the plants, or bald eagles soar over the lake. The only complaints we have are the twin bed mattresses are extremely firm, and the queen bedroom downstairs had some tiny ants but you are in the woods. We all agree we would stay at this property again in the future.

  The place was great to stay in for six adults. The lake was ok to fish from the dock but unusable by boat because you couldn’t put the boat in because the launch was in bad shape. So we had to go to another lake to fish if we wanted to use the boat, but the house was in good shape. It was clean. The staff was excellent to work with. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  Our family definitely enjoyed their stay at Sweet Verna. The home was spotless, welcoming, and beautifully decorated in the Up North Vibe. My grandchildren are excited about fishing, and they were very not disappointed! When I had a question I was answered promptly! All in all many family memories were made!
