The sandy frontage at Carefree Creek Cottage is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for swimming for the kids and the lakeside fire pit is a great place to gather at the end of a fun-filled day. There are 2 piers for docking your boats and for fishing off of. Little St. Germain Lake is a 986-acre lake with a maximum depth of 53 ft. It's known as a very good fishing lake and has good numbers of panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and musky.

  The on the water cabin was beautiful and wonderfully functional. My son and husband participated in the St Germaine Muskey tournament, and my daughter, my mom and myself enjoyed resting, sitting on the deck and pier, and the eagle river cranberry festival.

  The home was clean. Could use TLC on outside of cabin. Steps fixed with wood wedge to prop up; path to pier is very rugged and bench on pier shaky. Bathrooms are tiny. Kitchen was well stocked. Cabin is inches from the lake which makes for a beautiful setting. Very early check out of 9 a.m. Watch fee charges - on this one.

  We loved staying at Carefree Creek! The house was exactly what we needed, Clean & plenty of living space and a great outdoor set up. The only thing I would say was the stairs to the loft were a tad narrow if you plan on using the loft as a bedroom. Also I loved how helpful the management was, we never needed them for anything but when I spoke with her she mentioned she was only a phone call away had we needed them. Plenty of parking for 3 trucks with trailers even though we had to get a little creative. Not many houses can accommodate that! Would stay here again if we book another lake cabin!

  We enjoyed the closeness of the cabin to the water as it is difficult for my wife to walk any distance. The cabin is cozy and you can see that the owners are trying to update areas that need it. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and marshmellow roasts and the great views of the lake!!!
